Portugal On Location:
Ev Hales - Portugal 2010- On Location
September 20th - October 3rd 2010 paint on location with tuition from Ev Hales
Touring Portugal With tuition by renowned Australian artist Ev Hales.
Commencing on Monday, September 20th in Porto and ending on Sunday, October 3rd in Lisbon, here is an opportunity to join a 14-day escorted painting tour of beautiful Portugal.
The tour starts with a five-night stay in the historic old city of Porto, based in a centrally located three-star hotel close to cobblestone alley ways, magnificent old buildings, churches swathed in blue and white azulejos (tiles) and stunning views over the city and the River Douro.
Mid-week we will enjoy a cruise up the Douro by traditional rabelo boat, passing through three locks (one 35 metres high!) on our way to Pinhão in the heart of Port wine country. We plan to stay overnight in this region to have time to paint the scenery and visit the beautiful village of Alijó on our way back to Porto by private coach.

Porto to Obidos
After a free day in Porto, we will make our way south by private coach to Coimbra, one of Europe’s oldest university towns, where we will spend a night before continuing to the 12-century medieval castle town of Óbidos, for six nights in a four-star hotel, formerly an old convent.
Day trips for painting and sightseeing are planned by private coach to the monastery of Alcobaça and the fishing town of Peniche, stopping at beaches along the way for painting.
On the final day, we will be transported by our own coach to Lisbon and enjoy a treat that night listening to hauntingly beautiful Portuguese fado music at a traditional restaurant. Overnight accommodation is provided in Lisbon at a four-star hotel.
There will be plenty of painting almost every day, guided by Ev, and ample for non-painters to see and enjoy as well.
